Hi everyone,

I’m conducting research on the dynamic response of the wind turbine under wind and earthquake.
I have a question on the modelling of tower. There is always a door near the base of the tower. The opening would weaken the stiffness of the tower and make stress concentration. Can Seismic simulate the door, or how to consider such stiffness change in modelling.

Dear Zhengxiang Yi,

FAST (as well as Seismic) can model a tower with a user-specified stiffness variation along the height of the tower and different stiffness in the fore-aft and side-to-side directions.
